This is Something i talk a lot with my clients when they complain about a period with low sales, because you know? they didn't study graphic design, so they think you are gonna charge them for pretty draws, but im trying to change that so im gonna lend you some good tips i learned by the hard way.
- First of all you want to make a good impression, a good portfolio with some examples of bussines cards, logos, flyers, t-shirts (this varies a lot depending what kind of business are you trying to reach, be creative, if they are more open minded suggest a BTL campaign but based on my experience this job is almost like a relationship and first base are logos, bussines cards but if you do it right you can make some home runs if you know what i mean )
- Use examples about amm Coca Cola "for example" without his logo well.. is just a plastic bottle with black water but i think they're doing more than "just fine" *wink*
- Your clients needs to get visually to their costumers, so them can know who their are and remember his bussines in a effective and positive way,
Explain the last point to your clients with your own words that makes you real, and generates trust and confidence between you and your clients.
So, you already have a fancy portfolio and a bussines in front of you needy of all the good sacred things you learned in school and/or staying up until 3am with photoshop, illustrator and thirty tabs about art, design, and stuff.
Dont try to sell a design, try to improve their bussines with design, sounds pretty the same but if they notice a change in their sales you will notice a change too *wink*
so lastly but not less important
In the good design everybody wins
